We just returned from our first stay so while it’s fresh in my mind, here is a 30A travel guide.
We’ve seen so many people go there and and we FINALLY were able to check it out.
Where/what is 30A? It’s a 30 mile stretch along the Florida panhandle that consist of multiple beach towns.
First impression of the beach: Beautiful beach!!! The water was so clear and the sand wasn’t hot at all.

First impression of the area: Each town has it’s own vibe. Seaside / Watercolor is a very popular area to stay so it’s naturally the most busy. It had a lot food options that seemed walkable or could bike from rentals. Rosemary seemed like the same as Seaside, but maybe a bit nicer of an area. Alys Beach is luxury and gorgeous. Out of budget for us to stay in but a great place for a nice meal.

Like most of my guides, this 30A travel guide recommends renting a home. We rented a home off VRBO and love doing that over staying at a hotel. You get way more privacy and can make your own meals to save money. It turns out, I can’t link the exact home we stayed in anymore but we usually use VRBO or AirBnB. Then as we become more familiar with an area, we sometimes reach out to a local rental agency for assistance.
I recommend booking a home with a pool so you can break up your days between the beach and pool. And if you don’t bring your own beach chairs, there are a lot of beach rental companies that will give you chairs and umbrellas!

Here’s what we did almost every day:
Make breakfast at the house
Walk to the beach
Lounge and play spike ball (or another beach game)
Go to Seaside food trucks for a casual lunch or make lunch at the house
Afternoon by the pool
Explore the area and pick a place for dinner
Restaurant recommendations:
The Red Bar
Shunk Gulley
Georges
Citizens
Most places don’t take reservations so eat early or be prepared to wait.

A lot of people also rent bikes to get around – because parking can be a nightmare. We experienced this multiple times because we didn’t rent bikes.
Some rental homes include bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas so be sure to check your listing.
Overall, we loved it and are excited to go back next year.
If you are going, enjoy!
