Chateau Elan Winery and Resort has been our go-to spot this Summer. The property recently underwent luxury renovations and it’s gorgeous! Plus, it’s a quick drive from the city making it a great place for a weekend getaway. When I shared our recent stay on Instagram I had questions about the resort and I’m answering them here!
Here are my suggestions for what to do at Chateau Elan:
Friday: Book a 1pm wine tasting. Check-in isn’t until 4pm but you can ask for an early checkin and if they have it then you can throw your stuff in the room and then head to your tasting. The wine tastings usually take us 2-3 hours because they include 7 pours. It’s a great way to kick off a long weekend away!
Then you pop over to your room to freshen up before dinner. They have multiple restaurants onsite and some require reservations so be sure to plan before hand. Both times we’ve been there weren’t reservations available for one of the restaurant, Marcs, but we were still able to walk up and get a table due to cancellations.
Saturday: I use this day to hang by the pool. The seats get taken fast so be sure to grab chairs by 9am. Even though it’s crowded, It’s quiet in the morning. Then the poolside bar opens and they turn on music at 11am. The poolside bar is great because they have food on the menu and staff that walk around to take your order. You get to sit back and relax! This is not advertised as an adult-only resort but we have only seen kids there once. I haven’t checked out the spa yet but some like to cut their pool day short and get a treatment.
After a day in the sun, you can grab a nice dinner at Versailles or a casual dinner at Paddys. I love having options! I recommend stopping by Louis House of Bourbon for post-dinner drinks. The decor throughout the resort is amazing and this lounge doesn’t disappoint either!
Sunday: If you’re a golfer like my husband then this is a great day to book a tee time. They have 2 courses to choose from. If you’re NOT a golfer – like me – then you can sleep in then grab some avocado toast at Versailles. The resort also have a really cute coffee shop on site if you just need a latte and pastry! Checkout is at 11am but if you want to linger around the property a bit, you should grab a bottle of wine and a lounge chair overlooking the vineyards. It’s so quiet and peaceful. PS: you can also ask for a late checkout and if it’s available you can checkout at 12pm.
It’s a great place for a couples trip or a group getaway. Our first stay was all couples and our next stay was full of girl/guy groups. Enjoy some of the property pictures below! Let me know if you end up booking.
