I love hosting parties at our home! I think the planner in me really shines through when we host a party. Hosting can be stressful and expensive but I have 4 tips for hosting a party to help ease the worries.
- Find a co-host(s). This is so important for reducing your cost, because you will be splitting the total cost of food and decor. It doesn’t have to be with just one other person either. There can be 3 or 4 people helping with the party (especially with a wedding shower that has multiple bridesmaids in the same state).
- Choose a theme or color palette. This will help keep your ideas organized! If you don’t go with a theme (like a Fiesta) then choose a color palette. This is will keep you from buying random decorations and hoping they look good with each other. If everything you buy fits in the color scheme then it’s bound to look good together!
- Go all out on a decor focal point. Spend the bulk of your decor budget on a focal point. Think entryway, fireplace mantel or kitchen table. Go all out on a focal point that will catch everyones eye, that way you aren’t stressed trying to decorate every area of the house.
- Decorate days before. Start decorating 2-3 days before the party. This is crucial! It gives you time to make more trips to the store if you want to buy more decor. It also lets you relax the morning of, so you can do last minute things like dust and vacuum. And without the day-of stress of decorating, you can have time to do your hair and makeup.
That’s it for now! I’m still learning new hosting tips with every party 🙂 If you are hosting a party soon I hope this is helpful.

Balloon art is from USA Party Store. I told her I wanted a balloon arch and garland for the stairs. All I gave her were colors and measurements. She did the rest!
