Mondays can feel overwhelming but they don’t have to be as-bad as you make them out to be if you do a little Sunday prep work! Here are 3 things to do to set yourself up for a successful week ahead.
- Meal Plan. After your lovely Sunday morning breakfast, grab your favorite cook book or website and pick 5 dinners you are going to make this week. My go-to website is Skinnytaste. They have delicious, easy, and healthy meals! If you’re not a big cook, then plan for 3 meals and designate where you will order from or go-to for the other 2 nights. It’s more about writing down your plan and less about how you actually consume the food. The second part of meal planning is grocery shopping. Take 2 hours out of your Sunday to buy everything you plan on making this week. That way you don’t have to think about making a detour after a long day at the office. Not a big meal planner? Well, SkinnyTaste posts a meal plan each week! Takes the thinking right out of it.
- Prep Snacks. Yup, we are still talking about food. But hear me out on this… About 10:30am and 3:30pm you are probably at your desk complaining how hungry you are. Not to mention that hunger distracts you from your work. Right?! So if you know this happens to you, grab a few of your favorite snacks while you’re out grocery shopping. If they don’t need to be refrigerated go ahead and leave them in your car so you don’t forget them in the morning. If they need to stay in the fridge over night, put a post-it note on the door or a reminder in your phone to grab them before you leave in the morning. The worst thing is when 10:30am rolls around and you realize your snacks are miles away from your desk. My favorite snacks: apples and peanut butter, KIND bars, and cashews
- Outfit Planning. I am not a morning person. It’s a real struggle to get me out the door on time, always has been and always will be. To help myself move quicker in the morning I always pick out what I am going to wear the night before. Sometimes I even pick out outfits for the next couple of days. I think clearer at night and am never in a rush so I can spend the time to put thought into what I am going to wear. Plus, it ensures I don’t walk out of the house where 2 different colored shoes or something silly (speaking from experience).
Easy – you got this! A couple hours out of your Sunday saves you stress throughout the week.
